Use QR Pantry labels, QR codes, the app and Pro features only as intended and only with official QR Pantry products and services.

Your data is your responsibility

You are responsible for the accuracy of the food, storage, date, image and note information you save in QR Pantry.

Your consumer rights remain

Nothing in these Terms limits rights you may have under Australian Consumer Law.

1. About these Terms

Welcome to QR Pantry. These Terms of Use (Terms) apply to your access to and use of the QR Pantry website, online store, QR Pantry app, QR Pantry labels, QR Pantry Pro, accounts, subscriptions, digital features and related services.

The QR Pantry website is located at qrpantry.com and is operated by Inception Ventures Pty Ltd ABN 31 636 135 414 (QR Pantry, we, us or our).

By accessing or using QR Pantry, creating an account, placing an order, scanning a QR Pantry code, using the app or subscribing to QR Pantry Pro, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you must stop using QR Pantry.

We may update these Terms from time to time by publishing an updated version on our website. Changes take effect from the date they are published, unless otherwise stated.

2. Definitions

In these Terms:

  • App means the QR Pantry web app, progressive web app, mobile-accessible app or other QR Pantry digital interface.
  • Content means text, images, graphics, logos, designs, videos, software, code, data, layout, product descriptions and other material available through QR Pantry.
  • Labels means official QR Pantry smart labels, QR labels, pantry labels, storage labels or other QR Pantry physical label products.
  • Products means physical goods sold by QR Pantry, including Labels and related products.
  • QR Pantry Pro or Pro means paid QR Pantry features, whether supplied by subscription, trial, lifetime licence or another paid access option.
  • Services means the website, store, App, QR Pantry Pro, account features, QR scanning, barcode features, data storage features and related services provided by QR Pantry.
  • User Content means information, images, descriptions, notes, item names, expiry dates, shopping links, storage details or other content you upload, save or enter into QR Pantry.

3. Accounts and access

You may need to create an account to use some QR Pantry features, including saving items, managing labels, accessing QR Pantry Pro or viewing your order history.

You agree to provide accurate, current and complete information when creating an account or placing an order. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login details and for all activity that occurs under your account.

You must notify us promptly if you become aware of any unauthorised use of your account, password or QR Pantry codes.

You must not create an account or use QR Pantry if you are not legally able to enter into a binding agreement, or if you are prohibited from using the Services under applicable law.

4. The QR Pantry website, app and services

QR Pantry provides tools to help you manage pantry, fridge, freezer and household storage information. Depending on your access level and the features available at the time, QR Pantry may allow you to scan QR codes, save item details, manage spaces, record dates, add notes, upload images, manage shopping lists, scan barcodes, receive reminders and access QR Pantry Pro features.

QR Pantry may change, improve, add, remove, suspend or discontinue any part of the Services from time to time. We will use reasonable efforts to keep QR Pantry available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free access.

Your ability to use QR Pantry may depend on your device, camera, browser, operating system, internet connection, permissions, third-party services and account status.

5. QR Pantry labels and official QR codes

QR Pantry label functionality is designed for official QR Pantry codes supplied by QR Pantry. Each QR Pantry code is intended to be unique and may be linked to one item, list, space or supported record at a time.

You must not copy, scrape, reproduce, print, duplicate, resell, redistribute, reverse engineer, generate or attempt to create QR Pantry-style QR codes unless we have expressly authorised you in writing.

Third-party, self-printed, copied or unauthorised QR codes may not work with QR Pantry and are not supported. We may block, disable or restrict codes, accounts or access where we reasonably believe QR Pantry codes or Services are being misused, copied, tampered with or used in a way that bypasses our systems.

You are responsible for applying Labels to suitable surfaces and following any product care or application instructions. Surface type, heat, water, detergent, oils, wear, dishwasher cycles and handling may affect label adhesion or appearance.

Microwave use

Microwave use limitations: Where a QR Pantry Label is described as suitable for microwave use, this means ordinary reheating in a domestic microwave when the Label is correctly applied to the outside of a microwave-safe container.

Microwave suitability does not extend to grill, convection or combination settings, direct contact with food, heating an empty container, prolonged or unusually high-temperature cooking, or use on a container that is not itself microwave-safe.

Performance may vary depending on the container surface, food temperature, heating duration, microwave power, repeated heating cycles and the condition of the Label. Stop using the Label in the microwave if it becomes damaged, distorted, blistered, significantly discoloured, produces an unusual odour or begins to detach.

Always follow the instructions provided by the microwave and container manufacturers. These use limitations do not exclude, restrict or modify any right or remedy available under the Australian Consumer Law.

Dishwasher use

Dishwasher use limitations: QR Pantry Smart Fridge & Freezer Labels are suitable for washing on the top shelf of a domestic dishwasher using a normal wash cycle up to 60°C, when correctly applied to a clean, dry and suitable container surface.

Dishwasher suitability does not extend to custom or personalised QR Pantry Labels, which should be hand-washed. It also does not extend to wash cycles above 60°C, placement on the bottom shelf, intensive or high-temperature cycles, or exposure to unusually harsh detergents or cleaning agents.

Performance may vary depending on the container material and surface, how the Label has been applied, detergent used, wash temperature, repeated wash cycles and the condition of the Label. For best results, allow the Label to adhere firmly before placing the container in the dishwasher and avoid applying Labels to oily, wet, heavily textured or otherwise unsuitable surfaces.

Stop using a Label if it becomes damaged, significantly discoloured, distorted or begins to detach. Always follow the care instructions provided by the dishwasher and container manufacturers. These use limitations do not exclude, restrict or modify any right or remedy available under the Australian Consumer Law.

6. User Content and saved information

You remain responsible for the User Content you add to QR Pantry, including item names, expiry dates, storage notes, cooking instructions, allergy notes, images, quantities, locations, descriptions and shopping links.

You retain ownership of your User Content. By adding User Content to QR Pantry, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store, host, reproduce, display, process, transmit and use that User Content as reasonably necessary to provide, maintain, secure and improve the Services.

You must not upload or save User Content that is unlawful, misleading, offensive, harmful, defamatory, infringing, abusive, invasive of privacy, malicious or otherwise inappropriate.

We may remove, restrict or disable access to User Content if we reasonably believe it breaches these Terms, creates legal risk, affects platform security or interferes with the Services.

You should not rely on QR Pantry as the only record of important information. We are not responsible for loss of User Content except to the extent required by law.

7. QR Pantry Pro, subscriptions, trials and lifetime licences

QR Pantry Pro is a paid digital upgrade for the QR Pantry App. QR Pantry Pro does not include physical QR Pantry Labels unless expressly stated on the relevant product or checkout page.

QR Pantry Pro features may include barcode scanning, barcode-based item management, expiry reminders, image capture, shopping list tools, smart links, additional storage images, space renaming, detailed storage descriptions and other features made available from time to time.

QR Pantry Pro features may change, be improved, be replaced, be limited, be suspended or be discontinued from time to time. We do not guarantee that any particular Pro feature will remain available forever.

Subscriptions

If you purchase QR Pantry Pro as a subscription, your subscription will renew automatically at the billing interval shown at checkout unless you cancel it before the renewal date. You authorise us and our payment providers to charge the payment method associated with your subscription for recurring fees, taxes and any applicable charges.

You can cancel future subscription billing from your account area where that functionality is available, or by contacting us. If you cancel, you may continue to access Pro features until the end of the current paid billing period unless otherwise stated.

Trials

Monthly and annual QR Pantry Pro subscription begins with a 30-day (website) or 1 month (Apple Store) free trial unless a different trial arrangement is expressly stated at sign-up. If you do not want to continue after the trial, you must cancel before the trial ends to avoid being charged.

QR Pantry Pro subscriptions are excluded from our 30-day money-back guarantee and change-of-mind policy because the subscription already includes this trial period. Subscription charges are generally non-refundable once billed, except where required by the Australian Consumer Law or another applicable law.

If you subscribe to QR Pantry Pro inside the QR Pantry iPhone app, the purchase is made through Apple’s App Store and billed to your Apple Account, not to us. Payment is charged when you confirm the purchase. The subscription renews automatically at the price shown in the app unless you cancel it at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, and your Apple Account is charged for the renewal within 24 hours before that period ends. You can manage or cancel the subscription in your Apple Account’s subscription settings; cancelling from our website or by contacting us does not cancel an Apple subscription.

Where an introductory offer is shown in the app, it applies once per Apple Account, and the subscription continues at the standard price when the offer ends unless you cancel before then. Our 30-day trial on qrpantry.com does not apply to purchases made through Apple.

Refunds for App Store purchases are handled by Apple under its own terms; we cannot refund them ourselves. If you have subscribed on qrpantry.com, you cannot also subscribe in the app, and vice versa. A subscription bought through Apple may be shared with your Apple Family Sharing group.

Lifetime licence

A QR Pantry Pro lifetime licence is a one-off purchase that provides access to QR Pantry Pro for a period of 10 years from the date of purchase, or for the lifetime of the QR Pantry Pro product if that ends sooner. “Lifetime” refers to the lifetime of the QR Pantry Pro product. It does not mean the lifetime of the purchaser, any individual, any device, any app store, any third-party platform or any particular feature.

QR Pantry may change, replace, discontinue, retire or end the QR Pantry Pro product or the lifetime licence offering for new purchases in the future. Existing lifetime access continues for the remainder of its 10 year period, subject to these Terms, acceptable use, account status, the continued operation of the QR Pantry Pro product and any technical, legal or operational limitations.

A QR Pantry Pro lifetime licence may be refunded under our 30 day money-back-guarantee. Further conditions are set out in our Returns & Refunds Policy.

8. Barcode data, product information and smart links

QR Pantry Pro may allow you to scan barcodes and access product descriptions, product images, retailer links or other product-related data. This information may come from QR Pantry, third-party data sources, user submissions, retailer websites or other sources.

Barcode data, images, descriptions, retailer links, stock information, pricing, availability and product details may be incomplete, inaccurate, unavailable, outdated or changed without notice. You should check product packaging, retailer information and any relevant safety or allergen information before relying on product data.

Smart links to retailers or third-party websites are provided for convenience only. We do not control third-party websites, pricing, availability, delivery options, promotions, product listings or checkout processes.

9. Food safety, expiry reminders and informational content

QR Pantry is designed to help you organise and remember food and storage information. It is not a food safety authority, medical service, dietary service or professional advice service.

Expiry dates, use-by dates, reminders, storage notes, AI-generated tips, food safety tips and related information are provided for general information and convenience only. They do not guarantee that food is safe to eat, suitable for your circumstances or free from contamination, spoilage or allergens.

You are responsible for checking food packaging, storage instructions, use-by dates, allergies, smell, appearance, storage conditions and relevant safety advice. If you are unsure whether food is safe, do not consume it.

We do not accept responsibility for food spoilage, food waste, illness, allergic reactions or other loss arising from your reliance on saved dates, reminders, user-entered data, barcode data, AI tips or general food information, except to the extent required by law.

10. Orders, pricing and payment

When you place an order through the QR Pantry store, you agree to pay the price shown at checkout, including any applicable taxes, shipping charges, subscription charges or other fees shown before payment.

Prices, offers, features, products and availability may change from time to time. We may correct errors or cancel an order where pricing, product, availability or checkout information is materially incorrect, subject to applicable law.

A QR Pantry partner’s code gives the discount shown at checkout. It can be used once per customer, cannot be combined with another code, does not apply to QR Pantry Pro and cannot be used by the partner on their own orders. When you use a partner’s code or follow a partner’s link, the partner may earn a commission on your order at no extra cost to you. We may end any discount code at any time, including a partner’s code shared on a coupon or deal website.

Payments may be processed by third-party payment providers. You agree to comply with any applicable payment provider terms. QR Pantry does not intentionally store full payment card details unless expressly stated by the payment provider or required for transaction records.

After payment is confirmed, you may receive an order confirmation, receipt or access instructions by email or through your account.

11. Shipping and delivery

Physical products are delivered using third-party delivery providers. Shipping options, delivery timeframes and pricing may vary depending on your location, product availability and the delivery method selected at checkout.

Delivery estimates are estimates only and are not guaranteed unless expressly stated. Delays may occur due to postal services, customs, weather, public holidays, incorrect addresses, carrier delays or other circumstances outside our control.

You are responsible for providing accurate delivery information. If an order is returned, delayed or lost because you provided incorrect or incomplete delivery details, additional costs may apply.

If your order is lost, damaged or delayed in transit, please contact us with your order details so we can help investigate the issue.

12. Returns, refunds and Australian Consumer Law

Our Returns & Refunds Policy forms part of these Terms and is available at https://qrpantry.com/returns/.

Our 30-day money-back guarantee is available once per customer and applies to one opened pack from the customer’s first purchase made directly through qrpantry.com. Additional packs from that order, and eligible products from subsequent orders, may be returned under our change-of-mind policy if they remain unopened, unused and in their original condition and packaging, with the labels still on their backing.

Customised, personalised and made-to-order products, products purchased from another retailer or marketplace, digital products unless stated otherwise, and QR Pantry Pro subscriptions are excluded from our money-back guarantee and change-of-mind policy. A QR Pantry Pro lifetime licence may be refunded under our 30 day money-back-guarantee as set out in the Returns & Refunds policy. These exclusions do not limit any rights available under the Australian Consumer Law.

If you provide incorrect details for a customised or personalised product and it has already been printed or produced, we may be unable to refund or replace it for that customer-supplied error. At our discretion, we may offer a discount towards a replacement order.

Refunds under our money-back guarantee and change-of-mind policy are calculated using the amount paid for the returned product after applicable discounts. Original shipping charges are not refundable and return postage is the customer’s responsibility. Additional conditions concerning promotions, gifts with purchase and return processing are set out in our Returns & Refunds Policy.

Australian Consumer Law: These voluntary return policies are additional to your rights under the Australian Consumer Law. The time limits, packaging requirements, exclusions and postage conditions applying to voluntary returns do not limit any consumer guarantee, right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded.

To request a voluntary return, please contact us within 30 days of receiving your order and wait for return instructions before sending the product. Different requirements may apply where a product is faulty, damaged or incorrectly supplied.

Trials

Monthly and annual QR Pantry Pro subscription begins with a 30-day free trial unless a different trial arrangement is expressly stated at sign-up.

13. Product care, warranty and label use

QR Pantry products come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under Australian Consumer Law. You may be entitled to a replacement, repair, refund or other remedy where required by law.

In addition to any rights you have under Australian Consumer Law, we may offer product support for material defects or workmanship issues within a reasonable period or any stated warranty period. To make a claim, you must provide proof of purchase, a description of the issue and any photos we reasonably request.

Any product warranty or support does not apply to damage caused by misuse, incorrect application, abnormal handling, unsuitable surfaces, unauthorised modification, exposure to conditions outside normal use, or failure to follow care or application instructions.

Labels may leave marks, residue or traces after removal depending on the surface, material, age of the surface, exposure to heat, water, detergent, oils or other elements. Application and care instructions are guidance only and are not a guarantee of performance on every surface.

14. Acceptable use

You agree that you will not:

  • use QR Pantry for unlawful, fraudulent, harmful or unauthorised purposes;
  • attempt to gain unauthorised access to the website, App, accounts, systems, data, QR codes or services;
  • copy, scrape, harvest, generate or duplicate QR Pantry codes or data;
  • interfere with, disrupt, overload or damage the Services;
  • use automated tools, bots, scraping tools or similar technologies without our written permission;
  • upload viruses, malware, harmful code or content that may interfere with the Services;
  • misrepresent your identity or impersonate another person;
  • use QR Pantry to infringe another person’s rights;
  • upload unlawful, harmful, offensive, misleading, defamatory or infringing content; or
  • use QR Pantry in a way that breaches these Terms or any applicable law.

15. Intellectual property

The website, App, QR Pantry name, QR Pantry branding, designs, graphics, interface, software, QR code system, content, product designs and related materials are owned by or licensed to Inception Ventures Pty Ltd and are protected by intellectual property laws.

You may access and use QR Pantry for your personal, household or ordinary business use in accordance with these Terms. You must not copy, reproduce, adapt, distribute, sell, resell, exploit, reverse engineer or create derivative works from QR Pantry materials unless we have given you written permission.

Nothing in these Terms transfers ownership of QR Pantry intellectual property to you.

16. Privacy

We take privacy seriously. Personal information collected through QR Pantry is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy, which is available on our website.

By using QR Pantry, you acknowledge that we may collect, use and disclose personal information as described in our Privacy Policy and as reasonably necessary to provide the Services, process orders, manage accounts, deliver products, operate subscriptions, maintain security and comply with legal obligations.

17. Third-party services and links

QR Pantry may integrate with or link to third-party services, including payment providers, delivery providers, analytics tools, barcode data sources, retailers, hosting providers and other platforms.

Third-party services are provided by their respective providers and may be subject to their own terms, privacy policies, fees, availability and limitations. We are not responsible for third-party websites, content, services, pricing, availability or conduct except to the extent required by law.

18. Availability, updates and changes

We may maintain, update, change, suspend or discontinue any part of the website, App, QR Pantry Pro, QR code functionality or related Services at any time.

Updates may be required to continue using certain features. Some features may become unavailable if your device, browser, operating system, permissions or account settings do not support them.

We are not liable for temporary interruptions, maintenance, outages, data delays, feature changes or service unavailability except to the extent required by law.

19. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, QR Pantry and the Services are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. We do not guarantee that the website, App, QR codes, barcode features, reminders, smart links or other Services will always be available, accurate, complete, secure, uninterrupted or error-free.

Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts or modifies any right, guarantee, warranty or remedy that cannot be excluded under Australian Consumer Law or any other applicable law.

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or exemplary loss or damage, loss of profit, loss of opportunity, loss of goodwill, loss of data, food spoilage, delivery delay, third-party conduct, or losses arising from your reliance on user-entered data, product data, reminders, smart links or general information.

To the extent permitted by law, our total liability arising out of or in connection with these Terms or the Services is limited to the amount you paid for the relevant Product or Service giving rise to the claim, or resupply of the relevant Service, at our discretion and subject to any rights you have under Australian Consumer Law.

20. Suspension and termination

These Terms continue until terminated by you or by us.

You may stop using QR Pantry at any time. You may also contact us to request account closure, subject to any legal, accounting, fraud prevention or operational record-keeping requirements.

We may suspend, restrict or terminate your access to QR Pantry if we reasonably believe that you have breached these Terms, failed to pay fees, misused QR Pantry codes, attempted to bypass security, uploaded inappropriate content, created risk for the platform or other users, or if we are required to do so by law.

Termination does not affect rights, obligations or liabilities that arose before termination, including payment obligations, refund decisions, intellectual property rights, disclaimers, liability limits and provisions intended to survive termination.

21. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia. You submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Victoria and any courts entitled to hear appeals from those courts.

22. General provisions

If any part of these Terms is found to be invalid, unlawful or unenforceable, that part will be severed to the extent necessary and the remaining parts will continue in full force and effect.

Our failure to enforce a right or provision of these Terms does not constitute a waiver of that right or provision.

You must not assign or transfer your rights or obligations under these Terms without our written consent. We may assign or transfer our rights or obligations where reasonably necessary for business, legal or operational reasons.

These Terms, together with any policies linked from them, form the agreement between you and us regarding your use of QR Pantry.
