QR Pantry’s smart expiry labels look and stick just like regular high-quality labels. The difference is the QR code that when scanned with a smartphone, allows you to add information such as cooking instructions, expiry dates, images and more.
You can easily add expiry dates, links to re-order quickly, notes such as cooking instructions or allergy information, select from a list of icons and maintain a shopping list.
QR Pantry works on both most Apple and Android smartphones with a QR scanner feature in the Camera app. However, for the best experience, we recommend using a phone with a higher quality camera normally found in newer iPhone or Android devices manufactured post 2016.
Although our polyvinyl labels will survive dishwasher runs, depending on the surface of the container or how well they are stuck, it’s possible that they will peel away from your container or lose their adhesiveness over time. Particularly hot or greasy dishwasher loads may add too many oils and interact and wear down the adhesives in the plastic. For this reason, we recommended sticking them to plastic lids or containers (rather than glass) and hand-washing where possible to enjoy them for longer.
To add items, simply scan the QR Pantry QR code with your phone’s camera app or use our in-built scanner. This action will search for the code and if you haven’t added assigned the label to an item, you can do so by clicking the add button. If you have already added the QR code, scanning the code will display the item with associated notes and give you the option to edit, purchase or add to your shopping list.
Absolutely. Our codes are designed to be re-used as many times as you like. Each QR code is unique to your account and can only be linked to one item at a time. You can delete/clear the label’s QR code and update it at your leisure.
QR Pantry is designed to be used with our proprietary QR codes, which are printed on the labels available to purchase on our website. QR Pantry functionality is only available to QR Pantry customers, and any non-proprietary labels will not work. Our security mechanisms, which are continuously evolving, will prevent any non-proprietary codes from working to protect the integrity of our systems, so any “copycat” codes that may work today, may not work tomorrow.
No, our QR Pantry app was designed with all the must-have features included. QR Pantry Pro adds additional time-saving and aesthetic features such as image capture, barcode scanning and automatic smart links to restock at stores.
QR Pantry provides you with the essential features to manage your labels, including managing expiry dates and adding notes such as cooking instructions, without a subscription. Advanced features such as scanning items with barcodes, food expiry date email reminders, custom locations and smart links to online stores such as Coles and Woolworths are available to Pro Members.
